Our commercial fishing operations are primarily focused on Black Sea shellfish species. Since 2020, WDF holds the necessary licences and permits for commercial fishing and it has its own fishing boat and auxiliary equipment.
Given its own commercial fishing capacity, WDF currently implements a new business division for processing shellfish located in Costinesti, Constanta County, Romania. The short-term plan is commence the local processing and wholesale distribution of seafood for the local market while on medium and long term the intention is to become a local market leader in blue economy sector, valorising not only the shellfish meat but also the by-products (hard shell and discarded shell meat).
With the new investment in the processing line, fresh and frozen seafood products will be produced and distributed locally to clients in the HORECA sector, on the Romanian sea coast and beyond.
